Vector Legal Raises $5.19M Seed Round Led by Base10 Partners
Backing the AI-Native Law Firm Built for Startups
Press Release ยท
Vector Legal has raised $5.19 million in seed funding shortly after graduating from Y Combinator's winter batch, as reported by Business Insider. Base10 Partners led the round, with participation from Y Combinator and angel investors including Atrium founder Chris Smoak. The financing supports the firm's continued growth as it pairs experienced counsel with custom software built for founders.
Founded by attorney Mitch Duncombe and former Ironclad engineer Keenan Venuti, Vector combines a law firm staffed by experienced attorneys with a platform that lets clients handle more of their legal work directly, from formation and trademark filings to drafting, reviewing, and signing documents. As the law firm of record, Vector stands behind the advice it gives and is built to serve clients from their first contracts through nine-figure financings, acquisitions, and beyond.
“When I met with Mitch and Keenan, I saw the future of legal work: faster, leaner, and built for how founders and clients actually operate.”
About Vector Legal
Vector Legal serves startups from formation through Series B and beyond. Most work is billed hourly, at about half the cost of Big Law, because the firm's software takes the first pass and attorneys spend their time on judgment. Outcome-based pricing is available where it fits, and fast-moving teams can retain the firm monthly as fractional general counsel. Vector Legal is backed by Y Combinator, Base10, Palm Drive Capital, Amino Capital, and Transpose Platform. Headquartered in San Francisco, California.
Who provides the legal services
Legal services are provided by Vector Legal, P.C., a licensed California law firm. The VectorOS platform is built by Vector Systems, PBC. Software-generated drafts and findings are reviewed by licensed attorneys and are not legal advice on their own.
